I didn’t write From Grim to Great because I figured life out in one dramatic epiphany. Reinvention happened in layers—through ambition, disappointment, money decisions, leadership lessons, unexpected pivots and the realization that a life can look successful and still need to evolve.

At some point, many of us begin asking different questions. Not Can I accomplish more? but What do I actually want now? What still fits? What doesn’t? And what would happen if I stopped measuring success by someone else’s rules?

This book is my story, but my hope is that somewhere inside it you recognize possibilities for your own.
